The project is intended to keep the aviation crews at Cairo Airport up to date with the current status of various and different electronic information.
The proposed solution enable the end user to remotely control players across various locations, with all the stability required to avoid down time for maintenance or changing content. The solution enables the end user to control what is shown on the screens and update it. Adding an unlimited number of Players based on future requirements can fit in this solution for future expansion
The solution is network based and based on special hardware requirements which are the Players PCs which is located in the briefing rooms (BR) beside the main server in the control room (CR), The CR contain RF Splitter that distribute the RF signal provided by the satellite system of the Cairo Airport to the BRs (The actual feed from the satellite system is one of the News Channel).
Also the CR contain a network switch that connect the Server with the BRs Player PCs.
Each BR contains a plasma screen connected to the Player PC, also a Sensor Box (SB) which is the only available input device for the Player. This SB contain a group of keys, some of the keys are responsible of navigating between the applications displayed on the screen. Other keys are for pausing and restarting or playing the schedule. |
